Issus des milieux des arts du cirque et de la danse, et forts d\u2019une exp\u00e9rience de plus de 25 ans, Elsie Morin et Mathieu Roy, son ex-associ\u00e9, ont occup\u00e9 les sc\u00e8nes artistiques nationales et internationales en tant qu\u2019interpr\u00e8tes, concepteurs, chor\u00e9graphes, techniciens et formateurs au sein de diverses entreprises culturelles.<\/p>

Les cr\u00e9ateurs se d\u00e9finissent par une pratique des arts nouveaux qui se caract\u00e9rise principalement par une prestation ax\u00e9e sur le corps humain ayant une trame dramatique forte en \u00e9motion et en po\u00e9sie, et par la multidisciplinarit\u00e9 des moyens d\u2019expression.<\/p>


En 1998, Mathieu est anim\u00e9 par un d\u00e9sir de cr\u00e9ation ainsi que de celui d\u2019inscrire sa signature dans le registre des arts de la sc\u00e8ne. \u00c0 cet \u00e9poque, il venait de quitter le Cirque du Soleil, apr\u00e8s y avoir pass\u00e9 6 ans en tant qu\u2019artiste pour Saltimbanco et Quidam, les premiers spectacles \u00e0 \u00eatre vendus \u00e0 l\u2019international. Ce dernier entreprend la conception et la r\u00e9alisation du m\u00e2t rotatif, appareil unique qui offre un champ de vision de 360 degr\u00e9s des performances physiques des artistes. Apr\u00e8s deux ans d\u2019investissement tant dans le domaine technique qu\u2019artistique, il pr\u00e9sente une premi\u00e8re oeuvre qui se d\u00e9marque rapidement par l\u2019originalit\u00e9 du concept. D\u00e8s 2000, Elsie s\u2019int\u00e8gre au processus cr\u00e9atif. Leurs prestations se distinguent dans le cadre d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements majeurs notamment en Allemagne, en Angleterre, en Inde et au Japon.<\/p>

Devant les offres de contrats et pressentant le potentiel d\u2019exploitation au regard de ce spectacle unique, ils d\u00e9cident de saisir ces occasions et de fonder leur entreprise sous le toponyme Productions El-M\u00e2t, qui fusionne \u00e0 la fois la cr\u00e9ation (appareil) et les cr\u00e9ateurs.<\/p>
